When a user asks for a page that is not available on your website, it is necessary to give them a message that the page they are looking for currently not exists. For that purpose here is 404 page with elegant and simple design that will be useful for you to display the error message for your customers. Entirely built using HTML5 & CSS3. View Demo!
Version 2.0 adds four pages in the same design — a contact page with a validating form that the Contact Us button opens (contact.html), a server-error page (500.html), a scheduled-maintenance page with a live countdown and a notify-me email form (maintenance.html) and a no-internet page whose Try Again button reloads (offline.html) — plus three ready-to-send HTML emails: the contact auto-reply (email-contact.html), the notify-me confirmation (email-notify.html) and a maintenance notice (email-maintenance-notice.html). Back Home now really goes home, the layout is centred on tablet and phone, and the font is self-hosted.

- contact.html — where Contact Us now goes: name, email and message with validation (the problems are listed in one box) and a confirmation. Add data-endpoint to POST it to your own server; without it the form is a demo ("Demo only" lines — delete them when you go live). Details at the top of js/main.js.

- On a tablet or phone the 404 and the block under it sit vertically centred: the two bands share the free height, so no stray strip of the wrong colour opens above or below.
- Back Home and Contact Us both went to "#" and reloaded the page: Back Home now goes to "/" and Contact Us to the contact page.
- Lato ships inside the page (woff2, the four cuts the page renders: 300, 400, 900 and 700 italic) instead of eight cuts fetched from Google.
- Meta description added (the page title stays "404"); the credit line shows the current year; the dead container / row wrappers and 2 unused CSS rules are gone.
- Plain HTML and CSS plus one dependency-free js/main.js — no framework, no jQuery, nothing fetched from Google.
- Recolour in one place: --coral, --cream and --slate at the top of css/style.css.
