Free restaurant website templates: what you get here
Every template in this collection is a complete, responsive HTML5 website for a food business — a restaurant, café, bakery, bar, fast-food outlet or hotel dining room. Download the zip, open it in any editor, replace the photos and menu text, and upload it to any web host. There is no framework to install and no monthly fee: the free templates cost nothing to use as long as the small "template by ThemeVault" credit stays in the footer, and you can remove that credit for a one-time fee if you prefer.
The most-downloaded designs in this category are FoodEpik, an online food ordering layout with menu categories and a cart-style order flow, and Foodfries, a classic restaurant site with a menu page, reservation form and blog. Both were rebuilt in 2026 on Bootstrap 5 with no jQuery, so they load fast on phones and pass current mobile-friendliness checks. Foodfries is also available as a WordPress theme and as a Next.js template with an admin panel if you would rather edit your menu from a dashboard than in HTML.
What to look for in a restaurant website template
- A real menu page. Diners come for the menu. Look for a layout that groups dishes by course with prices, not a gallery of food photos with no text — ClassicRestro and Kitchups are built around the menu.
- Reservation or order form. A booking form that emails you (or a link to your ordering partner) turns a visit into a table. Bite on Bite, Plateccino and FoodEpik include one.
- Opening hours and map above the fold. Most restaurant searches happen on a phone within a few kilometres of the kitchen. The address, hours and a tap-to-call number should be visible without scrolling.
- Photography that does the selling. These templates ship with placeholder images; swap in your own dishes at the same dimensions and the layout holds.
- Lightweight code. A page that loads in under two seconds on mobile ranks better in "restaurant near me" results. Prefer the Bootstrap 5 rebuilds where one exists — they are marked "v2.0" on the template page.
Café, bakery and coffee shop templates
Smaller venues need less: a hero image, a short menu, hours and Instagram. Kafe and CafeBerry are one-page café layouts, and BakeatHunt suits a bakery or dessert shop. Browse the café, bakery and coffee house tags for the full set.
Restaurant email newsletters
Two items here are not websites: Foodaholic and Foodisine are responsive HTML email templates for menu announcements and offers, tested in the major email clients.
How to customise a template
Open index.html, change the restaurant name, address and hours in the header and footer, then work through the menu page replacing dish names and prices. Images live in the images folder — keep the file names and your changes appear without touching the code. Each template page lists the pages included, the version, and a live demo you can open on a phone before downloading.
Food & Restaurant — frequently asked questions
Are these restaurant website templates really free?
Yes. Every template in this category can be downloaded and used on a live website at no cost. The only condition is a small "template by ThemeVault" link in the footer. If you would rather not show it, you can remove the credit for a one-time fee on the template page, or join a membership that removes it on every template.
Can I use a template for a client's restaurant?
Yes. The licence allows personal and commercial use, including building a site for a client. The footer credit (or its removal) applies per website; you cannot resell or redistribute the template files themselves.
Do I need to know HTML to use them?
Basic editing is enough: you open the HTML files in any text editor and replace the sample text, menu items and images. No build tools or frameworks are required. If you prefer editing from a dashboard, Foodfries is also available as a WordPress theme and as a Next.js template with an admin panel.
Do the templates include online ordering or table reservations?
Several include a reservation or order form that sends an email; FoodEpik is laid out as an online ordering site with menu categories and an order flow. Payment processing is not built in — connect the form to your ordering partner or payment provider, or link out to them.
Are the templates mobile-friendly?
All of them are responsive. The templates marked v2.0 have been rebuilt on Bootstrap 5 without jQuery, which makes them faster on phones and easier to maintain; the older Bootstrap 3 and 4 versions still work on every device.
Which template should I start with?
For a full restaurant with a menu, reservations and blog, start with Foodfries. For food delivery or takeaway ordering, start with FoodEpik. For a café or bakery that needs a single page, Kafe or CafeBerry. Open the live demo of each on your phone before downloading.
